Supply Chain Risk Management: Check Critical Dates?

Supply Chain Risk Management: Check Critical Dates?

For many organisations, the road ahead is looking increasingly uncertain.  Revenue and cost pressures are combining to require consideration as to whether the current infrastructure and commercial arrangements will have to change.  However, such reviews take time and too often companies leave it too late before a lease or a contract expires before commencing the review process.  This situation is currently compounded by the sheer number of reviews that are now taking place leaving many contractors overwhelmed by requests for revised solutions and the longer lead times for warehouse and equipment provision.

It is essential, in the present climate, to be aware of critical dates to allow, if necessary, sufficient time to evaluate alternative solutions prior to entering further contract or lease commitments.   Alternative solutions that could involve replacement property, equipment suppliers or contractors.

Check early for when: -

  • Property leases expire or rent reviews become due?
  • Vehicle and mechanical handling leases and contracts expire?
  • Outsource agreements expire or price reviews occur?

Davies & Robson consultants have considerable experience, taking on supply chain projects to free management time, in helping in renegotiations with suppliers and providing additional management through its interim management service.
