Newslogistics is a unique operation providing time critical distribution services throughout the UK. Current operations include the distribution of News UK titles from printing presses in London, Manchester and Glasgow to magazine and newspaper wholesalers.
As part of its development programme, Newslogistics invited our supply chain consultancy to undertake a review of its delivery operations and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency ahead of expanding its operations.
In general, we found the operation very well organised with extremely high service levels. Using advanced modelling techniques, we identified a number of improvements aimed at increasing operational resilience and improving productivity. Plans are now well advanced to implement the proposed changes and commence a programme of offering services to a wider customer base.
